Build Your First Form in 5 Minutes with Mobyform
A step-by-step beginner's guide to creating, publishing, and collecting responses with Mobyform's drag-and-drop form builder.

Getting started with a new tool can feel daunting, but Mobyform is designed to get you from zero to a fully functional form in under five minutes. Whether you need a contact form, a customer survey, or an event registration page, this guide walks you through every step.
Create Your Account
Head to the Mobyform website and click the sign-up entry point. The public site redirects you to the application at build.mobyform.com, where you can complete registration and continue onboarding. Once your account is ready, you can start building immediately.
Start a New Form
After entering the application, create a new form from a blank canvas or start with a template that matches your use case. Templates come pre-loaded with relevant fields, so you only need to adjust the wording and settings for your use case.
Use the Drag-and-Drop Editor
The form editor is the heart of Mobyform. On the left panel you will find over 60 field types organized into clear categories:
- Basic inputs -- text, email, phone number, date, and number fields.
- Choice fields -- radio buttons, checkboxes, dropdowns, and image selectors.
- Advanced components -- file uploads, signature pads, rating scales, matrix grids, and cascading selects.
- Layout elements -- section headers, description blocks, dividers, and grouped field containers.
Drag any component onto the canvas and drop it where you want it. Reorder fields by dragging them up or down. Click a field to open its settings panel on the right, where you can change labels, add placeholder text, set validation rules, or mark a field as required.
Configure Form Logic
Need to show a follow-up question only when a user selects a specific answer? Mobyform supports conditional logic that lets you show or hide fields based on previous responses. This keeps your forms concise and relevant for every respondent.
Customize the Look and Feel
Switch to the Theme tab to adjust colors, fonts, and backgrounds. You can match the form to your brand identity or choose from several pre-built themes. The live preview updates instantly so you can see exactly what respondents will experience.
Preview Before You Publish
Click the Preview button in the top toolbar to open a full simulation of your form. Test it on desktop and mobile views. Fill in sample answers and submit a test response to make sure everything works as expected. Catching issues at this stage saves time later.
Publish and Share
When you are satisfied, hit Publish. Mobyform gives you multiple distribution options:
- Direct link -- Copy the unique URL and share it through email, messaging apps, or social media.
- QR code -- Generate a QR code that people can scan with their phones, ideal for printed materials or in-person events.
- Embed code -- Paste an iframe snippet or a JavaScript widget into your website or landing page so the form loads inline.
You can also configure access settings, such as limiting responses to one per person, setting a start and end date, or requiring a password.
Collect and Review Responses
As responses come in, they appear in real time inside the application workspace. You can review individual submissions, browse charts and summaries, or export everything to Excel or CSV for further analysis. If you need immediate notifications, connect your downstream tools from the app.
What Comes Next
Once you are comfortable with the basics, explore advanced features such as multi-page forms, order detail collection, exam scoring, custom domains, and integrations. Mobyform grows with your needs, whether you are a solo creator or part of a larger team.
Building forms does not have to be complicated. Start from the public website, jump into the app, drag, drop, publish, and start collecting the data that matters.
